The development of Fortnite began in 2011, and the project was originally conceived as a hybrid of Minecraft and Left 4 Dead on Unreal Engine 4. And only in 2017 did the game launch, and quite timely – amid the hype of the «Battle Royale» Epic Games introduced their free PvP mode, which became the cause of Fortnite's hyper-popularity.

But we will not consider Battle Royale; instead, we'll delve into the PvE mode, in which you, together with other players, will have to build fortifications and defend against waves of «lilac» zombies.
